HOW IT WORKS
A practical six-step spending routine.
ZeroOutflow is designed to move from a small entry to a useful decision without requiring an account or bank connection.
Add transactions
Enter expenses and income soon after they happen. A good entry has an amount, date, and category; a note can explain an unusual purchase.
Organize categories
Choose categories that help you make decisions. Custom categories are useful when the defaults do not describe an important part of your routine.
Create budgets
Set a monthly limit for a category where you want a guardrail. Start with one or two categories instead of planning every detail.
Review reports
Compare totals and category patterns after you have enough entries to make the comparison meaningful. Missing data is a reason to improve the record, not a reason to guess.
Set goals
Create a savings goal with a target and date, then record contributions so the goal connects to daily choices.
Maintain the habit
Use a short weekly check-in and a monthly review. Adjust categories, budgets, or goals when your circumstances change.
